Artha (devanāgarī: अर्थ)[1] est un terme sanskrit qui signifie "but", "objectif" ou "cause". Il fait référence à la prospérité matérielle.
Dans l'hindouisme, il désigne un des quatre objectifs de l'existence. Il consiste à gagner une notoriété, à rassembler des richesses, et accéder à un statut social élevé. Après Kama, le désir, et avant Dharma et Moksha, il est le second objectif dans l'échelle des Purusharthas (objectifs de la vie) de l'hindouisme.
