La gemcitabine est la dénomination commune internationale de l'isomère β de la 2'-désoxy-2',2'-difluorocytidine. Son chlorhydrate est un médicament antimétabolite analogue de la déoxycytidine, une des 4 bases azotées qui forment la partie codante de la molécule d'ADN. La Gemcitabine est utilisée dans le traitement chimiothérapeutique du cancer du poumon non à petites cellules, du cancer du pancréas, du cancer du sein et du cancer de la vessie.
