Le thé glacé (ou thé froid en Suisse, parfois désigné par les anglicismes ice tea ou iced tea), est un type de boisson rafraîchissante, non alcoolisée et non gazeuse, constituée de thé froid.

Le thé glacé est traditionnellement servi dans un verre avec des glaçons ou de la glace pilée, et éventuellement en ajoutant du sucre (principalement dans le Sud des États-Unis) ou du lait (en Thaïlande) ; le goût peut aussi être rehaussé en le mélangeant à des sirops parfumés, par exemple à la menthe ou aux fruits (citron, citron vert, framboise, cerise, pêche, litchi).

Le thé glacé peut également constituer un soda commercialisé en bouteilles ou canettes, par des marques comme Lipton Ice Tea, Nestea ou Virgin Ice Tea. Ces thés glacés sont généralement aromatisés aux citron ou à la pêche. Il existe néanmoins une grande variété de goûts : fruit de la passion, fruits rouges, etc. On en trouve même au cannabis, sous la marque C-Ice[1].

Cocktail

Il existe un cocktail alcoolisé dénommé Long Island Iced Tea (littéralement « thé glacé de Long Island »), dont l'aspect est similaire au thé glacé, sans toutefois en contenir.

Cuillère

Le thé glacé étant généralement servi dans de hauts verres, il a donné naissance aux États-Unis à un type de cuillère appelée iced tea spoon, suffisamment longue et fine pour pouvoir mélanger le sucre dans de tels verres[2].
