Frieda Fromm-Reichmann, (née à Karlsruhe en 1889 et décédée à Rockville, Maryland au É.-U. en 1957), est un médecin et psychanalyste allemande.
biographie
Elle a été analysée par Hanns Sachs et a travaillé à l'Institut psychanalytique de Francfort qu'elle a contribué à créer et à Dresde dans un sanatorium dirigé par Johannes Heinrich Schultz. C'est elle qui a été la première analyste d'Erich Fromm avant de devenir sa femme. Fuyant l'Allemagne, elle émigre en France, en Palestine et finalement aux É.-U..
psychotique
Elle co-dirige avec Harry Stack Sullivan la clinique Chestnut Lodge où elle développe ses conceptions sur la communication des psychotiques. Elle est connue pour avoir développé ses talents pour surmonter les difficultés du transfert des psychotiques et ainsi leur permettre une relative guérison. Une patiente : Joanne Greenberg a parlé de son traitement lorsqu'elle était schizophrène dans un livre célèbre I never promised you a rose garden Hannah Green et un film en 1977 Je ne t'ai jamais promis un jardin de roses avec Kathleen Quinlan, Bibi Andersson, Dennis Quaid, Clint Howard et Mel Gibson.
