L es Championnats du monde de triathlon longue distance ont lieu chaque année depuis 1994.
Ces championnats impliquent une compétition en cycle continu de natation, vélo et course à pied, sur des distances variant entre celle d'une distance olympique (voir Championnats du monde de triathlon) et une épreuve de triathlon Ironman. Les championnats sont organisés par l'Union internationale de triathlon.
