La gallamine est un curare non dépolarisant de la famille des ammoniums quaternaires.

Historique

Synthétisé pour la première fois à l'Institut Pasteur par Mme de Lestrange[2] et mis au point en 1946 par Daniel Bovet[3], le triiodoéthylate de gallamine a été commercialisé sous le nom de Flaxedil®[4]. Les effets anticholinergiques marqués et le potentiel allergisant de ce médicament l'ont fait progressivement abandonner par les professionnels.
