Phyllis Greenacre est une médecin psychanalyste américain né en 1894 et mort en 1989. Il a été interne à la clinique "Phipps" de l'hôpital Johns Hopkins Hospital de Baltimore où il a rencontré le psychiatre suisse Adolf Meyer. Il a débuté son cursus de psychanalyste en 1932 au New York Psychoanalytic Institute où il devient formateur dès 1942. Il a notamment été influencé par Ernst Kris et Heinz Hartmann éminents représentants de l'egopychology.
