Le but-1-ène est un alcène de formule brute C₄H₈.

Utilisation

L'but-1-ène est utilisé comme copolymère dans la production du polyéthylène (PE). L'but-1-ène est ajouté pour obtenir du polyéthylène basse densité (LLDPE) jusqu'à une concentration de 12%. Le but-1-ène est habituellement ajouté lors de polymérisation en phase gazeuse^[9].
