Ray Kroc (5 octobre 1902 à Oak Park - 14 janvier 1984 (à 81 ans) à San Diego) est un pianiste, puis vendeur de gobelets en carton, est devenu le milliardaire du hamburger en rachetant à 52 ans en 1961 la chaîne McDonald's aux frères Richard et Maurice McDonald.
Biographie
Celui-ci forme maintenant un empire qui s'étend partout dans le monde. Au début de sa carrière il vendait des machines à milk-shake et après plusieurs années il a réussi a faire de son rêve une réalité.
Ce qui reste de plus évocateur de Ray Kroc sont ses centaines de dictons : « Aucun d'entre nous n'est aussi bon que tous ensemble ». Il en avait des amusants du type : « Si deux gestionnaires d’une même entreprise ont les mêmes idées, l’un d’eux est inutile », ou encore « Tant que vous êtes vert vous grandissez, dès que vous êtes mûr vous commencez à pourrir ». Le travail représentait pour Ray Kroc l’essentiel de sa vie : « Si vous avez du temps pour vous reposer, vous avez du temps pour nettoyer. » ou encore « Le travail est le steak du hamburger de la vie. ».
