Le smörgåstårta ("sandwich gâteau") est un met de la cuisine suédoise aussi populaire en Finlande et en Estonie. Comme un sandwich, il est composé de pain et de garniture, mais il contient tant d'étages qu'il ressemble à un gâteau.
Le smörgåstårta est habituellement fait de plusieurs étages de pain blanc avec de la garniture crémeuse entre chacun d'eux. Les garnitures et le glaçage varient mais sont souvent composés d'œufs et de mayonnaise. D'autres garnitures sont possibles, comprenant souvent du paté de foie, des olives, des crevettes, du jambon, diverses charcuteries, du caviar, du fromage ou du saumon fumé.
Le smörgåstårta se sert froid et se coupe comme un gâteau.
