Will.I.Am, de son vrai nom William Adams,(né le 15 mars 1975 à Los Angeles, Californie) est un chanteur américain. C'est l'un des membres fondateurs des Black Eyed Peas. Il est aussi le producteur du groupe et, entre autres, de Fergie dans son album solo The Dutchess.

Will.I.Am est aussi un artiste solo : il participe à de nombreux projets et possède déjà trois albums solos à son actif.

William Adams est né le 15 Mars 1975 à Los Angeles. Son enfance a été bercée par la danse et la musique afro-américaine. Tout jeune, il rencontre Apl (futur aple.de.ap) qui devient son premier ami fondateur du groupe Black Eyed Peas. Will.I.Am avait déjà un goût et talent prononcé pour la danse et la musique : tout jeune, il animait les soirées de famille en dansant et même chantant. Avec Taboo et Apl, ils décident de monter un groupe qui mélangeraient mixes, danse et chant : Black Eyed Peas est né. En parallèle aux cinq albums du groupe, il a sorti trois albums solos :Lost Change, Must B 21 et le très récent (et qui n'a pas connu une très grande renommée médiatique)Songs About Girls. Sa musique est à variante hip-hop et rap, funk, électro, jazz, house et musique latine. Il est un artiste phare de la musique américaine et internationale[réf. nécessaire]. Il a également interprété et co-écrit la B.O. du film Madagascar 2 (I like to move it). Enfin, il a travaillé avec U2 sur le titre I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight sorti en 2009.

Will.I.Am & Michael Jackson

Will.I.Am semble être proche du "King Of Pop" Michael Jackson[réf. nécessaire]. En effet, ils se retrouvaient souvent en studios depuis 2006 pour réaliser un nouvel album de Michael Jackson et avaient déjà réalisé un titre probablement intitulé "I'm Dreamin". De plus, on pourrait retrouver sur ce nouveau projet de jeunes chanteurs R'n'B tels que Chris Brown[1] ou encore Ne-Yo.

Par ailleurs, en février 2008, est sorti Thriller 25, la réédition du 25e anniversaire de l'album mythique de Michael, Thriller (1982), sur lequel Will.I.Am, Fergie, Kanye West et Akon ont remixé des titres comme "Billie Jean", "The Girl is Mine" ou "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'".[2]

Politique

En 2008 il participe activement a l'élection de Barack Obama en composant les chansons Yes we can et We are the ones. Au lendemain de l'élection à la présidence des Etats-Unis du sénateur de l'Illinois, Will.I.Am publie une nouvelle chanson : It's a New Day, un clip centré autour des images du triomphe de Barack Obama à Grant Park, Chicago, le 4 novembre 2008 au soir, et où apparaissent tous les membres des Black Eyed Peas (Fergie, Taboo, Apl.de.ap), ainsi que, notamment, Kanye West, Quincy Jones, Kevin Bacon ou encore Joe Biden et Barack Obama aux côtés de qui Will.i.am est photographié... Il est d'ailleurs le co-fondateur du site Dipdive.com, site dédié à ses convictions politiques mais aussi humanitaire (whitebandaction.org). Il milite en effet contre la pauvreté dans le monde. Il compose et interprète au côté de Angelique Kidjo "In my Name" afin de promouvoir cette lutte.
