Ɑ (minuscule : ɑ), appelé alpha latin, est une lettre additionnelle qui est utilisée dans l'écriture du nufi, du mbembe[1] et du mbo[2]. Elle fait partie de l’Alphabet général des langues camerounaises[3]. Sa forme minuscule est également utilisée par l'alphabet phonétique international.
Sa graphie est basée sur celle du A minuscule latin ; sa forme capitale est simplement dérivée de la graphie minuscule. Sa forme est parfois utilisé pour la lettre a dans certaines orthographes (comme en akwapem twi ou fanti) ou certaines polices de caractère.
Linguistique
La lettre ɑ représente une voyelle basse postérieure non arrondie dans l'alphabet phonétique international.
Représentation informatique
La forme minuscule de cette lettre possède la représentation Unicode U+0251. Sa forme capitale est codée dans Unicode 5.1.0 à la position U+2C6D.
