Harold Bloom (né en 11 juillet 1930 à New York) est un critique littéraire et un professeur américain. Il a notamment défendu les poètes du XIXe siècle à une époque où ils étaient méconnus. Grand amateur de Shakespeare, il a préconisé une approche esthétique à la littérature contre les méthodes marxistes, féministes, néo-historicistes et post-modernistes. Avec David Rosenberg, il a écrit un ouvrage significatif à propos de l'hypothèse documentaire.
