Christine Brooke-Rose

Christine Frances Evelyn Brooke-Rose (née le 16 janvier 1923 à Genève) est une romancière et critique littéraire britannique, connue principalement pour ses expérimentations en écriture.

Née d'un père anglais et d'une mère suisse-américaine, elle fait ses études à Bruxelles, puis à Oxford et à Londres. Pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, elle travaille au quartier général des services de renseignement britanniques, à Bletchley Park, et entame ensuite sa carrière littéraire. Après l'échec de son troisième mariage en 1968, elle s'installe en France, où elle enseigne la linguistique à l'Univsersité de Vincennes et fréquente l'avant-garde parisienne (Hélène Cixous, Julia Kristeva). Elle vit depuis 2004 dans un petit village près d'Avignon.
