Ometeotl, (en nahuatl « deux-dieu, dieu double »), appelé aussi Omeyotl dans la mythologie aztèque, désigne une entité suprême, unique, immatérielle, transcendante, créateur unique de toute chose et d'une perfection absolue. Au commencement, il y avait l'Omeyotl, (appelé aussi comme Ilhuicateotl (« le dieu céleste »)[1], Moyocoyan celui qui est inventée et pense en lui-même, Tloque Nahuaque celui qui a tout, Ipalnemohuani le dieu du voisinage immédiat), qui s'est divisé en deux divinités[2] : Ometecuhtli et Omecihuatl[3].
Ometecuhtli représente l'essence masculine de la création[2] et sa épouse Omecihuatl représente l'essence féminine de la création[2]. On les appelle parfois également «Tonacatecuhtli» et «Tonacacihuatl» («Seigneur et Dame de nos nourritures» en nahuatl)[4] sur la terre.
Ometecuhtli et Omecihuatl ont été les parents des dieux créateurs Xipe-Totec[5], Tezcatlipoca[6], Quetzalcoatl[7] et Huitzilopochtli[8].
