Henry Carr, né le 27 novembre 1942, est un ancien athlète américain, double champion olympique aux Jeux olympiques d'été de 1964.
Biographie
Né à Détroit (Michigan), Carr était l'un des meilleurs sprinteurs du début des années 1960. Il a remporté trois titres nationaux et établi des records du monde sur 200 m, 220 yard et 4 x 400 yard. En 1963, il a remporté le titre NCAA sur 200 m en 20"5. La même année, il courait en 20"69 pour se partager le titre avec Otis Drayton.
Aux Jeux olympiques d'été de 1964 à Tokyo, il a remporté le titre sur 200 m devant son compatriote Otis Drayton et Ed Roberts de Trinidad et Tobago. Il a également été sacré avec Ollan Cassell, Michael Larrabee et Ulis Williams en relais 4 x 400 m.
Après sa carrière d'athlète, il est devenu joueur de football américain aux New York Giants, disputant 37 matchs entre 1965 et 1967.
