Le granola est un mélange d'avoine, d'amandes et de miel apparenté au muesli. Le tout peut être utilisé comme accompagnement de yogourt ou comme céréale matinale. Il peut aussi être cuit et présenté sous forme de tablettes. On peut ajouter des fruits secs à la recette de base.
En France, on parle plus souvent de céréales croustillantes.
La personne granola
Un granola peut aussi être la personne qui consomme ce produit. Notamment au Québec ou aux États-Unis, où le terme peut désigner quelqu'un d'un peu hippie, bohème et de convictions écologiques.
La marque Granola de Lu
Granola est aussi une marque commerciale pour un biscuit de Pâte sablée nappée de chocolat élaboré par LU. Ces biscuits existent au chocolat au lait ou noir et au chocolat au lait et noix de coco. Cette marque est apparue en 1972.
