Alber Elbaz (né le 12 juin 1961 à Casablanca), est un créateur de mode israélo-americain.
Biographie
Né au Maroc, il grandit à Tel-Aviv, en Israël, où il suit les cours du collège de mode Shenkar.
En 1987, il part pour New York. Il y rencontre le créateur Geoffrey Beene avec qui il travaille pendant sept ans.
En 1997, Ralph Tolédano, alors président de Guy Laroche, le choisit pour rafraîchir l’image de la maison française fondée en 1957.
Un an plus tard, il est appelé par Pierre Bergé pour la maison Yves Saint Laurent.
En 2001, il reprend la direction artistique de Lanvin.
Il reçoit en 2005 le prix international du Conseil des créateurs de mode américains.
Créations
En 2010, il dessine pour Lanvin et La Poste française deux timbres-poste de Saint-Valentin[1].
