Biographie
Le groupe s'est formé dans le début des années 1990 avec 11 membres, sous le nom X-Men. Ce nom fut choisi en partie à cause de leur rivalité avec le groupe de DJs de Super Clark Kent, connu sous le nom de Supermen. Ils ont cependant dû changer leur nom en raison du non-respect de droits d'auteur avec Marvel. Après le changement de nom du groupe, les membres restants dans le groupe, Rob Swift, Roc Raida, Total Eclipse, and Mista Sinista (inspiré du personnage Mister Sinister des comics Marvel), sortiront leur premier album X-Pressions. Sinista quittera le groupe après la sortie de l'album Built from Scratch, puis Rob Swift suivra le même chemin en 2005 pour des raisons personnelles et artistiques. Le groupe s'exprima peu sur le départ de ce dernier. Néanmoins, le dernier mot du groupe sera d'annoncé l'arrivée de deux nouveaux membres, DJ Boogie Blind et DJ Precision[1]. En 2007, Rob Swift, Total Eclipse and Precision formeront le groupe Ill Insanity.
L'année 2009 sera marqué par le décès de Roc Raida le 19 septembre 2009 de complications suite à des blessures à la colonne vertébrale liées à un accident pendant une session de karaté[2],[3].
Dans une récente interview avec la radio E.Zee[4], Mista Sinista a listé les actuels membres X-Men comme Rob Swift, Mista Sinista, Total Eclipse, Boogie Blind, Steve D, Sean C, Johnny Cash, Diamond J ainsi que Roc Raida, même s'il n'est plus vivant.
