Billy Bat (ビリーバット, Birī Batto?) est un manga écrit par Takashi Nagasaki et dessiné par Naoki Urasawa. Il est actuellement prépublié dans la magazine Weekly Morning de l'éditeur Kōdansha depuis le 16 octobre 2008. Il a été compilé en 7 tomes au 22 juillet 2011.
En France, la licence a été acquise par Pika Édition et les 2 premiers tomes vont sortir en mars 2012[1].
Histoire
En 1949 aux États-Unis, Kevin Yamagata, né en Californie en 1920 de parents japonais immigrés, est un dessinateur de comics dont la série phare, Billy Bat, remporte un grand succès.
Lorsqu'un policier lui indique par hasard que son héros, une chauve-souris détective, ressemble fortement à celui d'un manga japonais, Kevin interrompt la publication de sa série et se rend au Japon demander la permission au créateur original d'utiliser ce personnage pour sa bande dessinée.
Dans le Japon occupé d'après-guerre, Yamagata se retrouve alors au cœur d'une affaire de meurtres et de complots…
