Pinaki ou Te Kiekie[1], est un atoll situé dans l'archipel des Tuamotu en Polynésie française.
Géographie
Pinaki est un atoll légèrement ovale de 3 km de longueur et 2 km de largeur maximales pour une surface de terres émergées de 1,3 km2 et avec un petit lagon de 0,6 km2. Il est situé à 10 km au sud-est de Nukutavake qui est l'atoll le plus proche et auquel il est administrativement rattaché.

La première mention de l'atoll a été faite par l'explorateur anglais Samuel Wallis le 6 juin 1767 qui le nomme Whitsunday, nom sous lequel il apparaît sur certaines cartes[1]. Frederick Beechey visite Pinaki en 1826 et bien qu'il n'aperçoit aucun indigène constate qu'il existe des traces d'habitation. En 1899 et 1900, ce sont les zoologistes Henry Clifford Fassett et Charles Haskins Townsend qui abordent l'île et en prennent les premiers clichés qui sont aujourd'hui conservés au Smithsonian Museum.
