Hérakléopolis
Hérakléopolis est le nom grec de la capitale du vingtième nome de l'Égypte antique. Appelée Henen-nesut, Nen-nesu, ou Hwt-nen-nesu en égyptien ancien, ce qui signifie « maison de l'enfant royal ». En copte elle fut nommée Hennes puis Ahnas en arabe médiéval. Aujourd'hui elle est connue sous le nom de Ihnasiya Umm al-Kimam et Ihnasiyyah al-Madinah.
Elle fut la capitale de la Basse-Égypte durant les IXe et Xe dynasties (Ire période intermédiaire). Après la réunification de l'Égypte la ville perdit de son importance.
