L'acarbose (C25H43NO18) est un médicament utilisé pour traiter le diabète de type 2. Il est commercialisé en Europe sous la marque Glucobay® et en France sous le nom de Glucor (Bayer AG). C'est un inhibiteur de l'alpha glucosidase, une enzyme entérique qui libère le glucose des plus grands hydrates de carbone. Le principal effet secondaire est la perte de selles ou la diarrhée, qui limite son emploi. C'est un antidiabétique oral modéré. C'est un triholoside.
