- Chertan (de l'arabe al-kharātān = "deux petites côtes", faisant anciennement référence à δ et à θ Leonis).
- Chort (de l'arabe al-kharāt ou al-khurt = "petite côte").
- Coxa (latin pour "hanche").
Theta Leonis est de type spectral A0 et a une magnitude apparente de +3,32. Elle est à environ 178 années-lumière de la Terre.
