Jonathan (John) Silver (né en 1950 ) est l'ancien deuxième batteur du groupe de rock progressif anglais "Genesis".
Il a remplacé Chris Stewart en été 1968 et apparaît sur la pochette de leur premier album, "From Genesis to Revelation" qui est dans le coffret "Archive Genesis 1967-1975"(en). Il a quitté le groupe en août 1969 et a été remplacé par John Mayhew(en) .
Il vit à Londres avec sa femme, Lucy et ses enfants, Leo, Max et Libby.
En 1973, Anthony Phillips, Mike Rutherford et Phil Collins ont enregistré une chanson consacrée à la Chanson de Silver, appelée "Silver Song[1]". Cet enregistrement et d'autres versions de la chanson ont été inclus sur des albums de Phillips. Silver apparaît également sur l'enregistrement de 1973 "Fantomas Opening Theme" qui apparaît sur le Volume de Collection "Archive Collection Volume II"(en) de Phillips.
