A History Channel Thanksgiving est le treizième épisode de la quinzième saison de la série télévisée d'animation américaine South Park et l'épisode 222e de la série globale. Il a été diffusé sur la chaîne américaine Comedy Central le 9 novembre 2011[1].

Synopsis

Les enfants doivent rédiger un exposé sur ​​l'histoire de Thanksgiving. Ils suivent une émission sur la chaîne History Channel qui suggère que le premier Thanksgiving en 1621 a eu lieu en présence d'extraterrestres. Malgré l'indignation de Kyle, les enfants décident d'utiliser l'émission dans leur exposé. Ils attirent ainsi l'attention d'agents de History Channel qui voient dans leur exposé une validation de leurs propres théories. Par la suite, arrive sur Terre via un trou de ver le capitaine Myles Standish de Plymouth, une planète dont les habitants ressemblent à des Pères pèlerins, en guerre contre les Indiens de la planète Indi, qui cherchent à accaparer les mines de farce de Plymouth (d'où un important risque de pénurie pour la prochaine fête de Thanksgiving). Il faudra l'intervention de Natalie Portman pour renvoyer Standish à Plymouth, où il vaincra les Indiens et libèrera les mines de farce.

Références culturelles

Cette épisode est une parodie du film Thor.

La phrase; "Qui contrôle la farce, contrôle l'univers." est une référence à l’Épice dans le film "Dune" de David Lync

Quand Myles Standish parle des planetes à Kyle à la 15ème minute et à la 30ième seconde, on peut voir La Terre,Plymouth(qui est aussi une ville d'Angleterre),Indi,Colthenhein et la Planete des Green Lantern
