Ounas est le dernier souverain de la Ve dynastie égyptienne. Il régna aux alentours de -2353 à -2323[1] et aurait succédé à Djedkarê Isési et précédé Téti.

Ounas choisit Saqqarah pour établir son domaine funéraire. Il jouxte le complexe de Djéser recouvrant une nécropole de la IIIe dynastie qui s'était établie au sud de l'enceinte monumentale édifiée par Imhotep, le célèbre architecte.
