Muhamad Ali, né Raymond Patterson, est un batteur de jazz américain, né à Philadelphie (Pennsylvanie) le 23 décembre 1936.

Il est le frère du batteur Rashied Ali (Robert Patterson).

Après des débuts avec Albert Ayler (1969-70), il joue Frank Wright, Noah Howard et Alan Shorter.

Batteur free jazz fort peu discret et assez bruyant , il ne laisse pas un grand souvenir et retourne à l'anonymat.
