Ned Washington est membre du Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Washington a été nommé pour 11 Oscars du cinéma de 1940 à 1962. Il a remporté le Best Original Music Award pour "When You Wish Upon A Star" dans Pinocchio en 1940 et "High Noon (Do Not Forsake Me, Oh My Darlin')" dans High Noon en 1952.
