M50 (ou NGC 2323) est un amas ouvert situé dans la constellation de la Licorne. On considère généralement qu'il a été découvert par Charles Messier le 5 avril 1772, même si certaines sources laissent à penser qu'il avait déjà été observé par Jean-Dominique Cassini avant 1711.

Il est situé approximativement à 3000 années-lumière du système solaire, avec un diamètre moyen de 18 années-lumière. Cet amas compte environ 200 étoiles, et son âge est estimé à 78 millions d'années.
