Kongolo est une ville de la province du Katanga en République démocratique du Congo. La ville se situe au bord du fleuve Lualaba et à quelques kilomètres des chutes d'eau surnommées « les Portes de l'Enfer ». La ville accueille le dernier pont sur le fleuve avant le pont Matadi, à quelque 2 000 kilomètres de là vers l'aval.

C'est à Kongolo que, le 1er janvier 1962, quelque 29 pères de la Congrégation du Saint-Esprit furent assassinés par les soldats de l'ANC qui venaient de reprendre la ville aux gendarmes Katangais.
