Jaycee Lee Dugard, née le 3 mai 1980 est une californienne séquestrée par un couple : Phillip Garrido et Nancy Garrido, 18 années durant, depuis le 10 juin 1991. Ce jour-là, Elle a été capturée à un arrêt de bus scolaire à South Lake Tahoe, quand elle n'était âgée que de 11 ans. La jeune femme a été maintenue captive dans un cabanon de jardin avec ses deux filles, qui ont aujourdhui 11 et 14 ans[1], qu'elle a eues avec son ravisseur.

L'enlèvement

Le 10 juin 1991, Le beau-père de Jaycee Lee Dugard, Carl Probyn, voit deux personnes dans une berline grise (une Mercury Monarch ou une Mercury Zephyr)[18] faire demi-tour devant l'arrêt de bus de l'école et forcer Jaycee Lee Dugard à entrer à l'intérieur de la voiture. Pendant l'enquête, Carl Probyn fut lui-même suspecté et passa au détecteur de mensonge[19]. L'affaire reçu une attention nationale et fut présentée plusieurs fois dans l'émission America's Most Wanted[20] [21] [22].

La séquestration

Selon la police, Jaycee Lee Dugard est séquestrée derrière la maison de Phillip Garrido à Antioch en Californie pendant 18 ans. Elle tombe enceinte à 14 ans et donne naissance a son ainée, puis après à une seconde fille. Dugard était en bonne santé mais ni elle ni ses filles n'ont vu un docteur depuis l'enlèvement[23] [24] [25] [26] [27].
