L’indexation est l'ajustement d'une valeur sur un indice économique donné. Il désigne aussi une technique financière qui consiste à ajuster au mieux un portefeuille de valeurs avec une valeur de référence.
L’indexation d’un diffractogramme consiste à attribuer à chacune des réflexions mesurées des indices h, k et l entiers, afin de déterminer la maille et le système réticulaire du cristal.
