I'm a Man est une chanson de Bo Diddley, parue en 1955.

Caractéristiques

Cette chanson est connue pour son riff de trois notes universellement célèbre. Elle est basée sur une chanson de Muddy Waters, She Moves Me. Waters écrivit ensuite une réponse à I'm a Man, une chanson intitulée Mannish Boy, un jeu de mots sur le jeune âge de Diddley à l'époque.

Reprises

Ce titre a été repris de très nombreuses fois par des artistes de blues et de rock. The Yardbirds en firent une version fameuse, mais aussi The Who et bien d'autres. Cependant, elle possède un homonyme, grand succès du Spencer Davis Group.

En 2007, une version de Black Strobe, elle sera reprise un an plus tard en bande son sur le dernier film de Guy Ritchie, RocknRolla.
