Les Gordon Riots sont des émeutes anti-catholiques, provoquant des dégâts très importants, qui se sont produites du 2 au 10 juin 1780 à Londres, .

L'exercice de la religion catholique était limité par les lois anglaises qui édictaient un certain nombre de sanctions et d'interdictions aux catholiques du Royaume-Uni. En 1778, le Parlement avait passé le Papists Act (1778) qui assouplissait le Popery Act (1698) voté en 1700.

Lord George Gordon, élu président de l'Association protestante, fait signer une pétition pour le retrait du Papist Act. Le 2 juin 1780, avec 44 000 signatures, il la dépose au Parlement, qui inscrit le débat pour le 8 juin. Le soir, des manifestants saccagent les chapelles privées des ambassades catholiques. Les jours suivants, les émeutes sont sporadiques. Le Parlement ajourne son débat, ce qui accroît la violence. Les 6 et 7 juin, les manifestants sont maîtres de Londres, et l’émeute prend un caractère social. On brûle les maisons somptueuses sans distinction de religion ni de nuance politique. Le 8 juin, les « riches » s’organisent dans une « association de défense » qui lève des milices. L’émeute, durement réprimée, se calme le 10 juin, après avoir coûté la vie à 300 personnes. Elle fournit le prétexte au blocage de tout mouvement réformiste au Royaume-Uni.
