Dans le jeu Warhammer, les gnoblars sont une espèce cousine des gobelins appartenant aux peaux vertes, ils sont plus petits, mais les gnoblards et leurs cousins ont le même problème; ils sont les serviteurs, non pas des orques mais des terribles ogres. Ils rappellent sur beaucoup de points les gobelins mineures de la première édition de Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay.
Ce sont de petites teignes qui adorent tout ce qui brille. Ils vont au combat en meute, se poussant mutuellement à accomplir des actions basses et sournoises. Ils restent auprès des Ogres sans qui ils ne pourraient pas vivre. Cela dit, la vie chez un Ogre n'est pas facile, et la distance entre un Gnoblar et l'assiette de son maître n'est pas toujours aussi grande qu'ils le croient. Ces ogres les traitent avec mépris, mais certain leur trouve un charme quelconque, c'est ainsi que les gnoblards longues-vue, les gnoblards porte-épée, ou les gnoblards porte-bonheur ont fait leur apparition sur le champ de bataille.
il arrive parfois que des bandes de gnoblars se révoltent et combattent seules.
