F. R. David, de son vrai nom Eli Robert Fitoussi David, né le 1er janvier 1947 à Menzel Bourguiba (Tunisie) est un chanteur français.
Carrière
Il débute sa carrière auprès du compositeur Michel Colombier, sur l'album Capot Pointu (1969), dont certaines chansons ont été écrites par Serge Gainsbourg. On le voit aussi avec des groupes comme Trèfles et Boots avant qu'il ne rejoigne Les Variations pour leur dernier album. Accompagné de Marc Tobaly, guitariste de ce dernier groupe, il fonde Kings of Heart. En 1982, il sort le single Words qui sera no 1 en Allemagne, Suisse, Autriche, Suède et Norvège ainsi que no 2 au Royaume-Uni et aux Pays-Bas. Il sort par la suite quelques autres singles, qui rencontreront moins de succès. Pour l'anecdote, en 1984, il traduira la chanson en anglais Maman a tort devenue My mum is wrong interprétée par Mylène Farmer.
