Historique
Affecté par de nombreux soucis — la mort de son beau- père, de Jimi Hendrix et de Duane Allman (guitariste sur Layla), l’insuccès de Layla, son amour non partagé avec Patti Harrison — il sombre dans la dépression, l’alcool et la drogue dure. Il en revient en partie grâce à l’amitié de Pete Townshend. Celui-ci forme un super groupe d’amis et organise pour Eric Clapton le 13 janvier 1973 deux concerts au théâtre Rainbow à Londres.
6 longs morceaux live, très rock, saturés de guitares. Dont Badge (co-écrite avec George Harrison), Presence of the Lord, After Midnight de J.J. Cale, et Little Wing de Jimi Hendrix.
