EDF Energy est une compagnie de distribution et de production d'électricité dans le Royaume Uni. Elle emploie 20 000 personnes et dessert 5.5 millions de clients[1]. Elle est détenue en totalité par Électricité de France[2]. L'origine de sa fondation repose sur la fusion entre 2002 et 2006, après acquisition par EDF, des compagnies suivantes :
Elles sont suivies en 2009 par l'acquisition de British Energy, compagnie privatisée de production d'énergie nucléaire. EDF Energy est ainsi devenu le plus grand producteur et distributeur d'électricité du Royaume-Uni[3].
