Douglas Engelbart
Le docteur Douglas C. Engelbart est né le 30 janvier 1925 dans l’Oregon (États-Unis).
Spécialiste des radars à l’US Navy, ce pionnier de l’interface homme-machine a l’idée, dès 1950, de coupler un écran vidéo à un ordinateur. Il est également l’inventeur de la souris en 1963.
En 1968, alors qu’il est employé au Stanford Research Institute, il montre pour la première fois un environnement graphique comportant des fenêtres à manipuler avec une souris, ainsi que l’utilisation d’un traitement de texte dans cet environnement, d’un système hypertexte et d’un logiciel de travail collaboratif[1].
