Battambang (province)
Battambang ("perdre le bâton" en khmer, d'après une légende locale) est une province du Cambodge. Elle comprend 13 districts :
- 0201 Banan (raccourci probable de Preah Nanda "temple joyeux" ou Pa Nanda "ancêtre joyeux")
- 0202 Thma Koul ("pierre (servant de) borne")
- 0203 Bat Dambang ("perdre le bâton")
- 0204 Bavel
- 0205 Aek Phnum ("première montagne")
- 0206 Moung Ruessei ("massue de bambou", nom lié à la légende de Battambang)
- 0207 Rotanak Mondol ("mandala précieux")
- 0208 Sangkae ("arbre Combretum quadrangulare, dont les feuilles séchées servent à rouler des cigarettes")
- 0209 Samlout ("pente douce")
- 0210 Sampov Lun ("jonque qui glisse", le mot Sampov "jonque" en toponymie est souvent lié à des légendes)
- 0211 Phnum Proek ("colline du matin")
- 0212 Kamrieng
- 0213 Koas Krala ("île quadrillée")
