Nastas est l'assistant du Professeur Harold McDougal dans ses recherches anthropologiques sur les indiens. Lorsque Marston le rencontre c'est à bors d'une épave de bateau, ligoté, car découvert comme espion par Dutch Van Der Linde. Par la suite, Nastas aidera Marston à localiser Dutch Van Der Linde. C'est lors d'une confrontation avec des membres d'une tribu indienne que Nastas trouvera la mort, tué d'une balle dans la tête.
Vers la fin du jeu, on peut lire dans la rubrique fait divers du journal que le Professseur McDougal a laissé un message d'adieux pour Nastas.
Dans l'extension de jeu Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare Nastas est devenu un zombie. Il attaque le Professeur McDougal qu'il dévore vivant. Juste après, John Marston le tue d'une balle dans la tête.
