D'après le Coran, Haman (arabe : هامان hāmān) était le vizir de Pharaon à l'époque de Moïse. Haman est cité six fois à travers le Coran, dont quatre fois à la suite de Pharaon, et est nommer deux fois seul[1]. Selon le Coran, Pharaon et Haman sont tous deux responsable du meurtre des enfants d'Israël. Allah envoya donc Moïse prêcher le monothéisme à Pharaon et à Haman. Moïse demanda également la protection pour son peuple victime de torture, de pillage et de massacre par les armées de Pharaon. Pharaon et son vizir Haman rejetèrent le message prêcher par Moïse et le qualifièrent de sorcier. Dans la sourate Le Pardonneur, verset 36 et la sourate Le Récit verset 38, Pharaon demande à Haman de lui construire une tour qui transpercera le ciel afin de démasquer le dieu de Moïse[2]. Le Coran précise que se projet fut voué à l'échec : "[...]Le stratagème de Pharaon n'est voué qu'à la destruction " (sourate 40 :37). Ainsi tout comme Pharaon, Haman fut noyé dans la Mer Rouge.
