Æthelwold de Winchester (°909 - †984), également écrit Aethelwald, Ethelwold, Ethelwoldus, Adelwold, Adweil, fut évêque de Winchester dans le Wessex au Xe siècle.
C'est un saint des Églises chrétiennes célébré le 1er août.
Carrière ecclésiastique
Il fut d'abord moine bénédictin de Glastonbury en Angleterre puis abbé d'Abingdon, et enfin évêque de Winchester.
Il fut artisan du mouvement de réforme monastique dans l'Angleterre anglo-saxonne.
Œuvre
Il est l'auteur d'un supplément à la règle de saint Benoît, la Regularis Concordia Anglicæ Nationis Monachorum Sanctimonaliumque, abrégé généralement en Regularis Concordia, daté de 973.
Culte
C'est un saint des Églises catholiques et orthodoxes célébré le 1er août[1],[2].
