Wacław Berent (28 septembre 1873 - 19 ou 22 novembre 1940) était un écrivain, romancier et traducteur polonais, né et mort à Varsovie.
Wacław Berent fut un sévère critique des slogans positivistes, de la philosophie polonaise moderniste et du « bohémianisme » européen, qui postulaient la servitude face à l'art. Dans son roman Ozimina (Maïs d'hiver) il a dépeint l'éveil des consciences pour l'indépendance de la Pologne. Il était un adversaire résolu du Romantisme. Son œuvre principale fut Żywe kamienie (Pierres vivantes), roman dans lequel il a dépeint les risques qui menacent les valeurs morales dans notre époque de progrès industriel.
En 1933, Wacław Berent devint membre de l'Académie polonaise de littérature (en polonais : Polska Akademia Literatury).
Wacław Berent est décédé à Varsovie, à l'âge de 67 ans, le 19 ou 22 novembre 1940.
