The Call of Ktulu est le titre d'un morceau instrumental prenant place comme morceau de clôture sur le second album studio de Metallica : Ride the Lightning (1984).

Ce titre fût largement composé par Dave Mustaine (Megadeth ; ex-Metallica) qui reprendra par la suite des riffs pour sa chanson "hangar 18". Au départ initulé "When Hell Freezes Over" ce morceau doit son changement de titre à Cliff Burton (ex-Metallica), grand fan de Lovecraft.

Ktulu est tiré de la nouvelle L'Appel de Cthulhu de Howard Phillips Lovecraft. Il s'agit d'une divinité maléfique.

On peut noter que à l'époque de sa sortie, il s'agit de la plus longue chanson de Metallica.
