Standing on a Beach: The Singles est une compilation du groupe anglais The Cure, sortie en 1986 (formats vinyle et cassette audio). Une cassette vidéo regroupant les clips correspondant fut éditée la même année sous le titre Staring at the Sea, dénomination qui fut également adoptée pour la version disque compact de cette compilation, parue plus tard.
Le premier morceau Killing an Arab est inspiré d'un épisode du roman L'Étranger d'Albert Camus paru en 1942. Cette chanson débute par les vers « Standing on a beach with a gun in my hand, staring at the sea, staring at the sand... », qui a fourni son titre à l'album.
