Le Choix de Sophie (Sophie's Choice) est un film américain réalisé par Alan J. Pakula, sorti en 1982. Il est l'adaptation du roman de William Styron, Le Choix de Sophie.

Synopsis

L'action se déroule peu de temps après la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Stingo, un jeune écrivain du Sud des États-Unis, arrive à Brooklyn et sympathise avec un couple : Sophie (Meryl Streep), une jolie immigrante polonaise (ayant beaucoup souffert pendant la guerre) et Nathan, un juif au comportement imprévisible et violent laissant deviner une personne souffrant d'un trouble mental. Une relation complexe se développe entre les trois personnages.
