51° 33′ 15″ N 3° 23′ 20″ W / 51.5542, -3.3889 The Royal Mint (en anglais : la « Monnaie royale ») est une agence exécutive du Royaume-Uni chargée de la frappe de la monnaie britannique, la livre sterling. Elle est chargée de la production des pièces de monnaie de circulation, des pièces commémoratives et de médailles officielles. La production de billets, par contre, est du seul ressort de la Banque d'Angleterre.
Le siège de l'Hôtel des monnaies a longtemps résidé dans l'enceinte de la tour de Londres[1], puis à proximité, sur Tower Hill, à l'emplacement de l'ancienne abbaye de Eastminster. Actuellement, le site de production est centralisé à Llantrisant, en Galles du sud.
