Scotland Yard est le nom du quartier général de la police métropolitaine de Londres (Metropolitan Police Service). C'est en 1829, date de création de ladite force de police par Sir Robert Peel, que s'établit à Scotland Yard, derrière Whitehall Place, ses bureaux.

(Depuis son premier déménagement en 1890, il porte le nom de New Scotland Yard. Depuis 1967, ses quartiers généraux sont à Westminster, toujours sous le nom de New Scotland Yard. Mais on continue à dire le plus souvent : Scotland Yard.)

Le bureau du Commissaire de la police du métropolitaine, c'est-à-dire le chef de la Police londonienne, se trouve à Scotland Yard. Le Commissaire en exercice est Sir Ian Blair.

L'equivalent en France, est le 36 quai des orfèvres
